FAQs

Where does the tour start?

All tours start by the war memorial outside the Old Buttermarket pub. The address is 39 Burgate, Canterbury, CT1 2HW.

Do I need to buy a ticket?

No. You don't need to register and secure a ticket but on busy days we may only be able to take those who have secured tickets. On quiet days this systems helps us to know how many freebies to bring along on the tours.

What should I wear?

This is a walking tour, outdoors in the UK. We recommend bringing a raincoat. Always wear sensible footwear. The walking is not tough going but we will be walking on Canterbury's famous cobbled streets.

What if it is raining?

We still walk! Although under some circumstances we will pause the tours.

How long is the tour?

All tours are one and a half hours long.

Is it really free?

Yes! We do this for the love of the city and the tourists who want to get to know it as well as we do. We do however accept tips at the end like all walking tours. If you want to pay for a private tour (e.g. if you are a school group) that option is also available.

What if we have to leave early?

That's not a problem. Join us if you see us on the streets and leave when you have to.

I've made a booking but I can't attend. What do I do?

Send us an email and we will work it out for you.

My question hasn't been answered!?

Okay. Fire away. Send us a question over email here.
